Bubbleman - Can U Reach (D.J.W. Traffic Mix)

Some more typically 'progressive' house from Melbourne heavyweights now up on the channel.

Vicious Vinyl, born in Frankston in 1992, was a core label in trance and progressive house becoming Australia's most popular and produced electronic export.

I have often lamented this shift as I believe a lot of those records have aged poorly, yet their popularity in the EDM scene and the passion of those behind them is undeniable.

But Can U Reach (D.J.W. Traffic Mix) sees two label mainstays combine for a relatively tasteful house record, free from cringe but layered with progressive elements.

Bubbleman is Vicious label head Paul Van, with David John Walker, a prolific Melbourne studio engineer and member of  Vicious regulars Ground Level, on remix duties.

There's echoing female vocals, bouncing drum programming and swirling bleeps, but the low tempo restrains these typically trance elements making for a fun, playful house cut.

An early Vicious release that signals the label's roots in house, before they turned the tempo up.

A house diamond in the Frankston rough for you to enjoy.
