Catching up on a post during summer holidays here in Melbourne!
This one is another Japan pickup, courtesy of U.N.I.T.Y. records, who have already previously featured on the channel with Driving.
Rio (Jazzy Club Mix) is the deepest cut of the E.P., which consists of versions of Brazillian jazz oldie Rio written by Roberto Menescal and Ronaldo Boscoli, who are also credited as songwriters on this record.
U.N.I.T.Y. seems to have represented a lot of small time producers, with this being My Sound's only production as it was for the earlier record I posted from Ooh Baby.
Sometimes Latin sounds in house get a little too cheesy for me, which is also the case with other cuts off this record. But for the Jazzy Club Mix the playfulness of the Latin percussion works beautifully with the light keys and vocals for an uplifting deep house hit I am happy to have on the channel.
