The Sundown Kid - Paganini's House (Hard House Mix)

Next upload brings together a celebrated Italian virtuoso and the late 90s American house sound, also featured on my Crumpler Mix from earlier this month.

The Sundown Kid is the alias on this release for Mike Moses (also head of this small label) who had a number of release across the big labels of the US like Nu Groove, Strictly Rhythmn and Maxi under many different aliases.

For this track he brings in Caprice No. 24 composed by Italian violin virtuoso Niccolo Paganini, to questionable effect. For me, the misguided use of a past masterpiece makes this an even more attractive bargain bin jam than the pumping electro bass and screeching harmonica.

This is also a perfect example of why you should always pick up a Hard House Mix, as there is often less hard house hallmarks present than the name suggests.

Paganini's probably rolling in his grave when you play this, and I feel like Moses probably wouldn't have it any other way.
